Started the development of astronomy educational program: UCHU-GAME …

Started the development of astronomy educational program for preschool and primary school age. It is a joint development (Dusan Radosavljevic/Committee and dr Akihiko Tomita/Faculty of Education, Wakayama University) of interactive, educational software that will be able to be used online and offline at kindergarten, classroom and at home. The working title of the program is “UCHU-GAME” (the Japanese word uchu-universe, space) and is realized within the project “The Strategy for Achieving the Socio-Economic Benefits of Space Knowledge and Technology Applications; Education and Human Resources Development (lessons for structural reforms of Serbian educational system)”. The program will be used as a tool for conducting research among preschool children and the first two years of primary school, on different sides of the world, among different cultures, mentalities, different ways of life, level of development of the state and so on, about the degree of similarity in thinking, experience and understanding of the world around them through concrete and abstract work.

Expressed willingness to Serbia participate in UNIFORM (Japan) project…

Leader of UNIFORM (University International Formation Mission) project dr Hiroaki Akiyama, also director of IfES, on the initiative of the Committee expressed its readiness to one higher education institution from Serbia take part in this project. UNIFORM represents a project of developing a system for monitoring of wild fires through the constellation of micro-satellites.

Cooperation with IfES (Institute for Education on Space)…

Held a trilateral video-conference between the Director of IFES (Institute for Education on Space) dr Hiroaki Akiyama, member of IfES  dr Akihiko Tomita and representative of the Committee Dušan Radosavljević, during which are presented programs of IFES and the Committee and presented proposals of cooperation within the project “The Strategy for Achieving the Socio-Economic Benefits of Space Knowledge and Technology Applications; Education and Human Resources Development (lessons for structural reforms of Serbian educational system)“.

The result of the conference was agreed cooperation between IFES and the Committee, which will officially start in August next year by visiting Japan in order to participate in professional development program ”Cansat Leadership Training Program – CLTP4” and presentation of educational and developmental programs of IFES and other Japanese institutions and organizations, then presentation of infrastructure and the practical application of knowledge and technology, scientific achievements, consultations with experts in this field from several Japanese institutions and organizations, expanding the network of associates, etc. in order to form a Strategy for sustainable development of the space program in Serbia in accordance with the existing capacity of the country (developing country) as a basic document for the ongoing development of education and human resources in this field.

Established cooperation with dr Akihiko Tomita from Faculty of Education, Wakayama University (Japan) on the project “The Strategy for Achieving the Socio-Economic Benefits of Space Knowledge and Technology Applications; Education and Human Resources Development (lessons for structural reforms of Serbian educational system)“. Dr Akihiko Tomita is a professor of Astronomy on Faculty of Education at Wakayama University, member of IAU (International Astronomical Union) and IfES (Institute for Education on Space). Collaboration with dr Akihiko Tomita regards primarily on the development of joint astronomy educational  programs for preschool and primary school age.
