Official visit from India (UNITYsat/WCRC team)

Official visit of two Young Engineers Mr. Ashwin Shankar Reddy and Mr. Sainath Vamshi Gavani from India who are part of the Satellite Team that together with the CSPD developed and launched THREE Satellites (UNITYsat) into Space on February 28, 2021, with ISRO’s Rocket PSLV-C51 Amazonia Mission from India’s Spaceport, Sriharikota, India (https://www.isro.gov.in/Spacecraft/unitysat).

UNITYsat was the Joint development by Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, Sriperumbudur (JITsat), G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur (GHRCEsat) and Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore (Sri Shakthi Sat) https://www.siet.ac.in/ along with Students’ Startup TSC Technologies P Ltd (TSC) https://www.tsctech.in/, Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA) https://www.itca.org.in/  and CSPD http://2comnet.info/komsat/en/. Both ITCA and CSPD have initiated 75 Students’ Satellites Consortium: Mission 2022 (http://75satellites.org/) to Celebrate India’s Freedom 75 Years (1947-2022) by Launching 75 Students’ Satellites by 2022 from Schools and Colleges/Universities in India!

Mr. Reddy and Mr. Gavani are pursuing their Masters in Engineering at Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, India (https://www.siet.ac.in/ ) also part of the TSC and ITCA Satellite team. This venture of our countries represents an extremely important historical moment for Serbia because the launch of 3 UNITY Satellites represents the First Space Mission for Serbia. All this is part of the INDO-SERBIA Strategic Partnership in the field of Space engineering, which was established in October 2019 after the participation of teams from India in the International CanSat/Rocketry Competition in Serbia. Within the framework of the strategic partnership, several joint projects and programs have been launched that have a global character. It is extremely important to point out that Serbia and India are the initiators for the establishment of the World CanSat/Rocketry Consortium (WCRC), within which the World CanSat/Rocketry Championship (https://www.wcrc.world/) is being held. The founding countries of the WCRC are, beside Serbia and India, Peru, Canada, Tunisia, Italy and Portugal. This Championship currently covers over 60 countries around the World. One of the engineers who will visit Serbia Mr. Reddy, in addition to his regular Space Engineering responsibilities, is in charge of all WCRC activities for the Asia-Pacific region.

This is another reason why the delegation came because the World CanSat/Rocketry Championship World Finals will be held in Serbia in August 2022. During the visit, everything related to the organization of the competition, international rules for participation, etc. will be agreed, as well as several presentations and exhibitions in educational institutions in Serbia will be held, replica of UNITY Satellite will be shown, mission and technical aspects will be explained. Joint plans and details on the involvement of educational institutions from Serbia to projects/programs within the INDO-SERBIA Strategic Partnership will also be presented. Indian and Serbian teams in cooperation with Indian Universities/Engineering Institutions are currently working on a global project to develop and launch World-UNITYsat with ISRO/IN-SPACe/NSIL, which involves over 60+ countries. This is the unique project in the World, no other country has included so many countries in the Live Space Project.

Mr. Reddy and Mr. Gavani have brought to Serbia, in addition to a replica of UNITY Satellite (Scaled-up Model), a model of PSLV-C51 Rocket in the scale of 1:20 for the needs of promotional and educational processes in Serbia, then Special Commemoration Stamp (MyStamp) of Government of India Post printed on the day of Launch of 3 UNITY Satellites, a huge Trophy for WCRC World Finals etc.
