PARTICIPATION OF THE COMMITTEE ON „THE 5TH NANO-SATELLITE SYMPOSIUM“ – TOKYO, JAPAN

A representative of the Committee participated on the „The 5th Nano-Satellite Symposium“ held from 20th to 22nd November 2013 on the University of Tokyo (Takeda Frontier Science Hall).

The Symposium was attended by 260 delegations from 47 countries and regions. „The Nano-Satellite Symposium is an academic meeting promoting technological development of nano-satellites and their application, as well as enhancing awareness about their benefits.

This year’s Symposium was held under the title „Missions and Enabling Technologies towards Future“.

PARTICIPATION OF THE COMMITTEE ON “2nd International Workshop on Small-Scale Satellite Testing Standardization” – Tokyo, Japan

A representative of the Committee participated on the “2nd International Workshop on Small-Scale Satellite Testing Standardization” held on 19th November 2013 on the University of Tokyo. The workshop was held as part of the project NETS (Nano-satellite Environment Test Standardization) managed by dr Mengu Cho, professor of Kyushu Institute of Technology and director of Center for Nanosatellite Testing.

The aim of the workshop was a detailed review of the draft of ISO standards for the design and testing of micro/nano satellites.

Started development of WQM-HUMSAT system…

Started development of system for satellite monitoring of surface water quality in real-time and early-warning system (WQM) within HUMSAT project.

The system consists of two major segments:
– segment of the the Earth (WQM);
– segment in Space (HUMSAT);
and use “Store & Forward” telecommunications technique.
Segment on Earth (WQM) develops Committee, and segment in Space  develops University of Vigo (Spain) through the project HUMSAT (Humanitarian Satellite Constellation).
The project is supported by the office in charge of the United Nations – UNOOSA (United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs) and the European Space Agency – ESA.

established cooperation – DR Javier Avalos Garcia (Mexico)…

Established cooperation with dr Javier Avalos Garcia from Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara (Mexico) on CanSat projects. Dr Javier Avalos Garcia is a professor on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the mentioned University.

– Field of specialization: Structures and vibrations.
– Present Research Interests: Structural vibrations, stochastic processes, arboriculture, sensorcraft development.
Collaboration with dr Javier Avalos Garcia regards primarily on the development of joint CanSat programs for primary, secondary and higher education levels.

ESTABLISHED COOPERATION WITH Aeronautical Union of Vojvodina…

Cooperation with the Aeronautical Union of Vojvodina (VSV) is, of course, completely natural and about its significance speaks to the fact that this organization is the holder of the highest awards both at domestic and international level in all segments of the aviation particularly the rocket modeling and launch. From the aspect of published Strategy for space program development and defined Programs of the Committee, Aeronautical Union have relevant and for defined Programs necessary experience in rocket modeling and launches, ballooning, parachuting and organizing of national and international competitions, gained through tradition full 85 years, which is clearly shown on official website of the Union (http://www.vsvojvodine.org/) and it will only strengthen the position of both organizations and enable sustainable development of education and human resources in this area, as well as the achievement of the objectives defined by the published Strategy.

The Strategy was written on the basis of the Japanese strategy from the same area during stay at Japanese universities, institutes and organizations, as well as during the participation on the training programs, all under the supervision and in collaboration with eminent Japanese experts in this field.

Arrived MOU for Serbia participation in uniform project…

Director of IfES dr Hiroaki Akiyama sent the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as an official invitation to one higher educational institution from Serbia to participate in the UNIFORM project. The interested institution will sign the Memorandum with Wakayama University, by which will officially become a partner and representative of Serbia in this international project.

Agreed upon joining GENSO project…

Agreed upon joining of the Committee to GENSO (Global Educational Network for Satellite Operations) project.

The main objective of the GENSO project is to create worldwide network of amateur radio and the university ground stations in order to establish the longer (24 hours) communication with university satellites.

GENSO is a project of the European Space Agency (ESA) and coordinated by the Office for Education of the European Space Agency. University of Vigo (Spain) is the central of European operations and coordinate accesses to GENSO network.
